5-FRESH FRUIT

6-SWIMMING IN COLD WATER

7-LOUD MUSIC WITH A GOOD BEAT

8-SPEAKING TO SOMEONE IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

9-KISSING

10-MAKING A WHOLE CROWD LAUGH

Cinderella in a Party Dress

I recommend you listen to this song while you read my blog today.
(ps. if someone wants to teach me how to upload a youtube video to my blog- it would be much appriciated.)

The Killers, Dustland Fairytale.

This Song spoke to me today:Especially the lyrics abo
ut Cinderella in a Party dress.

How do you envision "Cinderella in a party dress?"
This is what I imagine.
By Nina Ricci

I wish I could wear this for Halloween. Heck I wish I could wear this any day of the week. (And believe me- I would.)

So, the question is...
What are you being for Halloween?
I can't wait to see all the post-Halloween blogs.

This was my Halloween last year. I was at the BYU Jerusalem center, and dressed up like the Mesopotamian Moon Goddess, Nana. Incredibly nerdy, I know. But it was so acceptable and easy to be so nerdy at the JC.

An Invitation

These Shoes Kill me...
I cannot identify the origins. Saw them on this blog.
Dang.

Having a two week break from mid-terms has been amazing. Only one easy test in two weeks! no special assignments or papers! It's a week straight from heaven. But don't think I've stopped studying! Oh no! I am (almost) all caught up on all the crazy college reading I have to do!

This is how I look when I study:
(*insert red hair.)

And this is how I look when I dance!

Speaking of dancing! I would like to invite you all to my belly dancing recital! It's a week from Wednesday, on November Forth at 7:00 at the Covey Arts Center in Provo. tickets are 5$!
Talk to me for more info!
This is going to be a seriously WEIRD night. Because, trust me, if you ever want to meet weird people- take a community class!!
But, if you embrace the awkward- like I do- then this will be the most amazing night ever.

David Bowie Love

This weekend I watched the movie Labyrinth. I have not seen this since I was a kid. I was experiencing some serious Deja Vu, like when you hear a song you used to know ever word too, for the first time in ten years. I knew every scene as soon as it came, I could almost quote along with the movie.

While this is kind of a freaky 80s movie- nothing beats David Bowie!

Here is a little LOVE for you:
My goodness how can you not love him? Especially around Halloween time.

Here are some Bowie inspired, but more feminine fashion. (in My opinion.)

The Left is from Oscar de la Renta, Fall 07, the Right is Balenciaga, Summer 07

Dark Inspiration:

After decorating my living room, I have turned to my very own bedroom. It is a mismatch of styles. I love them all. I am very eclectic, and I was only planning on living here for three months; but that has turned into an additional eight months. So It's about time for a little inner cleansing.

Here is what I have done.
I know these pictures are not awesome. Deal with it. I am.

This is a painting I did, that now hangs over my desk. It is inspired by Charles Makintosh, a furniture designer. His styles always include long black lines like these:

and his recognizable Rose Motif.
And after a little inspirational DIY site, showed how contact paper can be put to good use in apartments, where you use put nails or paint,
Here is what I came up with:

It's basically just a big sticker that I cut out. I am quite pleased. Imagining the sunrise call to prayer is easier than ever.

You may recognize this headboard outline from my very favorite room design (as blogged before):

I have been trying to introduce thick, dark lines.

I don't know what this says about my soul.
Maybe that my soul has good taste.

It's a Chagall life

So here's an update about my cooking goals:

I have now made pumpkin bread, some chicken stuff and today, in response to lamenting about the long since gone Pudding on the Rice, I made rice pudding. I have learned that the best way to curb your appetite is to cook. With the exception of cookies, I have noticed how I will crave something all day but as soon as I start to make it for myself I am so sick of being around the food that I don't even want to eat it anymore. This is why fast food is so dangerous! You crave something, ten seconds later you have it in front of you, and two minutes after that It's all gone! Or maybe cooking is just a part of the eating experience. You don't have to eat as much to feel satisfied with a food, because you already started your experience with cette food previously!

Today my dear mother surprised me with a new set of pots and pans that she got for an amazing price. Now I don't have to "borrow" (aka take permanently) her pots anymore! Thanks Mom!

I have been thinking a lot about Marc Chagall lately,
This is his La Mariee.

And not only have I been THINKING about Chagall, all day I have been FEELING like I have stepped into one of his paintings. I think this is directly related to a lack of sleep.

Today was one of those days where I changed my clothes over 13 times; nothing felt right. At the end of the night I have ended up in basketball shorts and a tight tee. I hate basketball shorts, but right now I am so perfectly content.

I am very content to walk to my door alone. And Lay under my handmade covers. And blog.

Goodnight
xoxo

Me and.... You

Lets get rich and buy our parents homes in the south of France

Lets get rich and give everybody nice sweaters and teach them how to dance

Lets get rich and build a house on a mountain making everybody look like ants
From way up there, you and I, you and I

My song of the moment: here!
